About Us

Author ~ Deborah Adele

Deborah's bio image. Deborah Adele holds master’s degrees in both Liberal Studies and Theology & Religious Studies, as well as training in Gestalt skills and Strategic Intelligence Skills. An ERYT500, she carries yoga certifications in Kundalini yoga, Hatha yoga, Yoga Therapy, and Meditation. She is also trained as a Somatics practitioner. For over 14 years, Deborah worked to build Yoga North, now a thriving yoga center steeped in yoga philosophy, postures, and life skills. She stepped out of ownership of Yoga North to spend more time writing, teaching, consulting, and doing her personal practice.

Deborah worked for three years as a consultant with a firm out of Boulder, Colorado, where she combined the concept of body and breath with organizational development skills to improve leadership and management in various businesses around the country. She wrote a regular wellness column for the Duluth News Tribune and has authored two CD’s, The Art of Relaxation and The Practice of Meditation. Deborah currently owns Adele & Associates, a company whose goal is to increase clarity, productivity, and right-living in individuals and systems. Deborah is an innovative thinker, and, in whatever venue she finds herself, consistently uses her knowledge and training to support others in living a life imbued with balance, clarity, and well-being.

In addition to her business and yoga experience, Deborah has made several trips to India for study and exploration. She feels it is important to continually ask ourselves the question, "What does it mean to be human?" by putting ourselves in places we can be challenged and changed, by telling ourselves the truth, and by sitting in some form of prayer, meditation, or reflection daily.

Deborah currently resides in Duluth with her husband Doug, a Lutheran minister, where their conversations around spirituality remain lively. She and her husband also enjoy hiking and biking in the beauty of this northern region. They have two sons and four grandchildren, who keep them laughing and invigorated. Deborah enjoys her grand piano and is an avid reader.

Deborah is drawn deeply to the depth of Yoga philosophy and feels her life has been dramatically enlivened from these concepts. It is her greatest joy to share these teachings with others. Publisher ~ On-Word Bound Books

On-Word Bound Books LLC is a small, independent publishing company committed to producing quality products for niche markets. On-Word Bound Books works closely with their authors in order to produce the highest quality book possible.

Co-owners, Sara Duke and David Devere started On-Word Bound Books in 2003. They have produced one book per year since they started their company. All of their previous books have been in the quilting genre. This is their first yoga book and they are very pleased with the result. They feel the content and design are both top quality and the price can't be beat. Reaction to the book has been quick and positive. Already other teachers are taking this book out into their community and using it as a teaching aid to introduce these important concepts.

Producing one book per year doesn't keep Sara and Dave completely busy so they both continue to work outside of their business on personal interests.

Sara teaches yoga in various studios and businesses around Duluth and has a passion for Restorative Yoga - see her website, Do Restorative Yoga, and blog for more information.

David enjoys history, culture, food and wine. These interests led him to earn a Certified Specialist of Wine accreditation from the Society of Wine Educators in 2012. A trip in 2011 on the Canal du Midi in the South of France was such an enjoyable experience he redoubled his efforts to helping people explore, taste, and travel our beautiful blue planet.

Together, David and Sara are offering guided tours on the Canals of France, combining their love of travel, yoga and wine to offer you the most relaxing vacation you may ever go on. Visit www.SavvyNomad.com for more information about wine education, tasting and French canal boat tours.
